- Rocker
Rocker lowers your centre of gravity for better stability. Combine this with concave and it locks your feet in like a vice. Rocker allows for easier pushing while increasing foot hold and responsiveness.
- VLSC Split Core Technology
For both Soldier models Never Summer manufactures a special Vertically Laminated Split Core (VLSC). We press two vertically laminated Poplar cores into one, creating a stiff and solid platform. A light yet incredibly durable deck that can handle the high speeds that are required of the Soldier.
- Carbonium DuraPic
New for 2011: The Carbonium Series. This exclusive material has a carbon-weave visual with a matte finish. A new version of our innovative DuraPic material, Carbonium's carbon fibre texture not only looks great but is even more resistant to scratching and chipping.
- DuraPic Graphics
Borrowing again from our snowboards' proven topsheet durability, we sublimate our longboard graphics onto a similar co-extruded thermoplastic sheet that is scratch and chip resistant. Used as the graphic, DuraPic provides unequaled protection to the integrity of the lower structural laminates while holding up to the inherent wear and tear of longboarding.
- RDS Ride Stabilization
RDS, our Rubber Damping System, provides unmatched stability and Never Summer's signature smooth ride. RDS uses elastomeric rubber foil laminates that absorb vibrations from the trucks. This improves overall stability and helps to reduce foot fatigue.
- P-TECH Nose and Tail Protection
When Never Summer first introduced P-TECH inlays at the nose and tail of our longboards in 2007, the technology forever changed longboard manufacturing. Never Summer Industries pioneered the use of UHMW polyethylene, better known as P-Tex, in the sidewalls of our snowboards due to its durability and ease of repair. Seamless integration of the same proven P-Tex into the nose and tail of out longboards provides an unmatched level of protection and durability.
- FCC Construction
Flex Control Composite (FCC) construction combines bi-directional fibreglass, a non-woven layered composite that is strong, responsive and won't breakdown quickly; and a vertically laminated core measured to the tousandth of an inch to create the perfect flex for the length, wheelbase and intended use of each longboard. Each core is milled to exact specifications and then stored in a climate controlled room to ensure proper moisture content, another necessary component for consistent flex patterns. The strength, quality and consistency of materials in our FCC Constructions are the key to the excellence Never Summer thrives to produce.
