Greatstone on the East Kent coast is top kitesufing location in my opinion, vast bay offering flatish water with small waves at low tide. Greatstone works well in a North East and East wind and when these winds are forecast I can't get to the beach fast enough. There are several flags on route I monitor on the way to Greatstone in the Dymchurch area, once I see these flags flyiing my right foot gets a bit heavier.
When the tide is fully out the walk to water does take time but I can assure you the walk is well worth it. The beach does suffer from mud in certain places but last year I found the mud not to be as bad as the previous years. Slipping and sliding about with a powered up kite whilst walking to the water can be challenging at times, but I found by walking in the pools of water its much easier as the sand is compacted.
By the way, watch out for the mobile speed camera that is sometimes situated in the St Mary's Bay area. I collected 3 points one early Sunday morning whilst on the way to this great kitesurfing venue "Greatstone"
See you at the beach.

Watch out for metal poles/spkies sticking out of the sand that fisherman use to more fishing baskets to. I ran over one and it stopped me dead and put a huge gash in my nobile 666.

Dont let this put you off though as greatstone is one of my favourite beaches to ride at, i prefer it way over camber.
