Sunday afternoon in the usual spot is my plan. Wind looking good
Sunday morning will be hopefully fixing kitebladders and depowerstraps.
Changing the subject slightly - being a porper at present Im going to make my own Kiteboard - I know this sounds dumb as I could never create anything as good as what you could buy from S2AS but it sounds like a bit of a laugh to me and you never know it might be alright If I made a fat one for lightwind days.
After reading about homemade kiteboards ont interweb, plywood works.
Anyone got any ideas? |

I made a plywood door and it works sooo well in lightwind in just cracks me up...
In 10knts my door a 14m LEI with an 85-90kg rider is a match for a 75kg rider using a 20.5 machine with a 130x39 board..
The door and a 20m and its stupid what wind you can still crank it upwind in... |

I've made a couple of boards myself ply works well the hardest thing is actually bending the wood and it isn't the lightest core either so you have to be quite careful on weight, got one of my old ones at home if you wanna look, its pretty heavy but absolutely bomber (I tried standing on it between two chairs and it didn't break!!) _________________ I wanna be first one out and last one in. Ive been reading stuff on google and (apparently) its not that difficult to put a bit of rocker on a homemade kiteboard, it does make it a bit weaker but in theory you dont need much rocker on a kiteboard as we use the edge alot more.
James bring yer homemade boards down one day so I can learn a bit more.
You never know, In my wildest dreams I may just become the next best ply wood Kiteboard shaper and exclusivly sell them through James at S2AS?
Ok, you may laugh now but who knows, one day I may be able to afford a few meters of carbon.
Might I just add that S2AS are the Monkeys Chunkies and are about do me another great deal!
Keep up the good work guys. |

you would have enjoyed our downwinder this afternoon that ended up a very close encounter with dave the fucking dolphin!!!!
i jumped a bit too close to rocks on a southerly, landed in a flat cove bit and I think he shit himself and leapt out of the water!
i didnt realise what he was at first so was pretty suprised to see somthing that big leap out of the water right in front on my board.
I think someone watching got a few pics because the fat little feker popped up again to check us out. He must be leaving soon though as its getting much cooler.
Biggest fish ive ever kited with
Better than nailing an kgb
