Designed for Intermediate to Advanced aggressive riders, the 2018 Apex Team delivers a unique combination of High Rocker, increased width, and Airush's new Venturi Concave. The 2017 Apex Team is also built with their new 3K Carbon Construction, keeping the board light and responsive!
Reflex Carbon Construction: Adding moderate stiffness and response to the freeride and freestyle crossover boards, the reflex carbon is airush’s full carbon layup. The reflex carbon construction is built with two types of carbon working together for seamless performance offering the rider the ability to crossover between straps and boot riding.
Multizone Biotech Core: The Airush Multizone Biotech Construction is a Vertical Paulownia Wood Core Sandwich. This Multilayer Construction creates a consistent density from the natural material. Airush's Wood Cores are renowned for their response, durability and smoothness, and are combined with a versatile combination of laminates depending on each model’s requirement, for all-round performance and durability.
Nano Rod Technology: The Airush Nano Rod Tech utilizes 3mm Diameter Carbon Rods embedded through the Paulownia Wood Core in an Arc Formation. This allows the board to have amazing torsional response and strength without the need to change core thickness or add excessive layers of composite.
Full Carbon Torsion Control: Airush Full Carbon Torsion control creates a unique performance advantage developed specifically for thier High Performance Carbon Boards. Traditionally Carbon Fiber Boards are incredibly stiff, causing a harsh and at times uncomfortable ride. The Full Carbon Torsion Control features Biaxial oriented High Modulus Carbon f allowing torsional flexibility while maintaining the fast responsiveness and aggressive pop everyone has come to expect and enjoy from high quality carbon fibre boards.
Venturi Concave: The deep Venturi Concave in the Apex Team allows for a more directional ride with stronger water velocity away from the fins. This allows for riding with smaller fins and makes landings easier.
Freeride/Freestyle Oriented: The Core Thickness is oriented from the Center to the Tips, leaving the center of the tips and rail thin & flexible. This when put with the Venturi Concave gives the board incredible directional stability, with both foot straps and bindings, allowing for more user-friendly performance. The wide platform outline in the Apex is ridden wider than usual for its length. This extra tip width enhances upwind performance & overall control with a little extra pop.
Freeride/Freestyle Crossover Rocker: This Rocker creates the perfect performance between Freestyle and Hardcore Freestyle. The Rockerline is designed to be ridden with both footstraps and bindings to cater for all riders, whether they are pushing the limits in big air or more wake oriented tricks.
FMS Rating: Airush introduced FMS Ratings in their boards 6 years ago, as the first brand to quantify how much a twintip flexes. Instead of the good old “feel” test, which can be very deceptive due to the impact of the length on the overall stiffness, FMS takes into account the board’s length and deflection. A lower rating indicates a softer board more suited to freeride, while higher rated stiffer boards are more suited to freestyle. The FMS Rating for the Apex is a 7, stiff.
