Take a look at the new Shinn Model K2 Carbon Set Kite Hydrofoil at S2AS!

After more than 2 years of development and 30 different prototypes Shinn have finally released their full carbon hydrofoils!

Introduced last year the K2 foil introduced new levels of stability and control in a foil that was fast, easy to use and incredibly pitch stable. For this season Shinn have raised the bar once again by offering this foil with an all new Carbon composite mast. Not happy to simply produce a "black" foil Shinn Kiteboarding needed every to work in perfect harmony, carbon foils offer so much more stiffness (at a lighter weight) than their aluminium counterparts. During foiling the rider is up to 1 metre above the foil, it’s long distance control, 1cm of flex at wing level is magnified by a factor of X to where you stand – imagine trying to push a button with a 1m long flexible stick or driving a car with flat tyres, each control input you make is magnified and delayed causing instability and even the most talented riders to wobble. If your serious about foiling and want to raise your game to the next level carbon is the only way forwards.

Ride further and faster without extreme front foot pressure, agility with stability and a fast track to a more advanced foiling level. With a similar rake and surface area to the model K the secret to this foil is in the combination of the 2-stage anhedral front wing and high aspect, wingletted stabiliser perfectly balancing the foil through a range of speeds. Built using proprietary hi-modulus, multi-axial carbon sandwich construction and featuring an innovative new Hollow-Tech integrated mounting plate with fast mount slide on/off fasteners. This foil uses a dedicated fuselage but is compatible with all existing Shinn wings and stabilisers.

People often ask us at S2AS if it makes sense to have a carbon foil mast and our answer is always "unless you want to spend the money don’t test one as once you try one you will never go back!"

Features:

- Revolutionary Freeride Foil: Designed for riders wanting to take their foiling to the next level – quickly.
- Hi-Modulus Carbon Wings: Medium/high aspect wing - 866 cm 2 with winglet Stabiliser - 280cm2
- ST3W Carbon Stabiliser with yaw control winglets
- Versatile Speed range: Take off around 12 kph with top speeds >55 kph
- Multiple Mast Lengths: Available with 60cm, 75cm, 90cm and 110cm
- Hollow-Tech Mounting plate: This integrated plate Increases rigidity and decreases weight
- Multi-axial, multi layered, hi-modulus carbon construction: Increased speed, increased stiffness and increased control
- Compatible and Easy: Fast and easy foil attachment to any board (165 x 90 bolt spacings) with either M6 or M8 hardware
- H4Modular Design: Fuselage compatibility with all other Shinn wings and stabilisers

Take a look at the new Shinn Model Mega K Carbon Set Kite Hydrofoil at S2AS!

The Mega K is the most versatile wing in the Shinn range.

Originally designed with Surf and SUP in mind it’s also proved to be exceptionally well suited to kite-foiling in waves and in extreme light winds. With a surprisingly high top speed for a wing of this size and yet still un-believable low speed starting (as low as 8 kph) the Mega K leads us down the path of multi-discipline wings. This season sees a massive performance increase thanks to our new hi-modulus carbon S20.1 stabiliser. Taking on board the lessons learnt during the development of the K2 foil this new stabiliser improves on speed range and pitch stability whilst carving like you can’t believe.

By offering the Model Mega K with Carbon composite mast Shinn have made incredible improvements.

Designed to provide lift at low speeds and yet retain enough top end to keep it fun the Mega K provides stability and manoeuvrability making it perfect for SUP, SURF or Kitewave foiling in small to medium sized waves. Utilizing a low to mid aspect ratio wing with a high rake delta outline has allowed us to provide the massive speed range needed to handle both starting and control on the wave face. The main wings blended winglets work with the flat stabiliser to give great directional stability without limiting the carving potential even at crazy slow speeds.

So why do we recommend the Mega K for extreme light wind kiting as well? Low speed starting is the key where the challenge is to generate enough speed to start foiling. With the Mega K the power needed to water start is already enough to fly and with a top speed in excess of 35 kph you’ll be cruising when even other foilers are left sitting on the beach.

People often ask us at S2AS if it makes sense to have a carbon foil mast and our answer is always "unless you want to spend the money don’t test one as once you try one you will never go back!"

Features:

- Versatile and Multi-functional: Strapless, Waves, Transitions and Extreme Light Wind
- Hi-Modulus Carbon Wings: Medium/low aspect wing - 1200 cm 2 with down-turned winglet Stabiliser – S20.1
- Amazing Speed Range: Take off around 8kph with top speeds >40 kph
- Multiple Mast Lengths: Available with 60cm, 75cm, 90cm and 110cm
- Hollow-Tech Mounting plate: This integrated plate Increases rigidity and decreases weight
- Multi-axial, multi layered, hi-modulus carbon construction: Increased speed, increased stiffness and increased control
- Compatible and Easy: Fast and easy foil attachment to any board (165 x 90 bolt spacings) with either M6 or M8 hardware
- Modular Design: Fuselage compatibility with all other Shinn wings and stabilisers
- Fast and Versatile Carbon Hydrofoil : Faster, Stiffer, More Stable

Now available the new Shinn Model P Kitesurf Hydrofoil at S2AS

A sport limited to the rider elite only 2 years ago foil-boarding has come of age as riders of all ages and abilities look to take advantage of its benefits.

When asking riders about their reluctance to foil the answer is always the same – it’s too difficult and too dangerous, well we have news for you – the Shinn Model P has changed all that and continues to lead the way in unbelievably safe and easy progress right from day one. Imagine making flying runs during your first 30 minutes with a foil… An impossible dream only 18 months past the Shinn Model P has bought foil-boarding within the reach of any competent TT rider and eliminated the frustrating and painful learning process of only a few short years ago. It’s not just the extreme low speed lift (starting for as little as 10 kph) that makes it so easy but also the predictable and progressive pitch control that eliminates the “rise and crash” scenes previously synonymous with learning to foil and for this season Shinn kiteboarding have added the new larger ST3 stabiliser making it even easier than before.

Available with a wide variety of mast lengths for progression at all levels (40, 60, 75 and 90 cm) you can also be sure your investment is not short lived as the foil structure features full modular compatibility with all other wings and stabilisers in the Shinn range allowing fast and cost-effective performance upgrades if and when you are ready for more.

Features:

Carbon Re-enforced Wing
1150cm² gives amazing low speed lift and pitch control for in-experienced foilers

New for 2018 ST3 G10 Stabiliser
New larger stabiliser (280cm²) makes pitch control even easier than before

Low Speed Lift, High Angle of Attack Stall
The P wing lifts progressively and gives plenty of warning before stalling and dropping you from the sky

Multiple Mast Lengths Range
A mast for every learning stage with 40, 60, 75 and 90 cm lengths available

Strike Resistant Design
Top mounting for the delicate composite wings protects them from accidental bottom strikes

Quik-Fit plate
Fast and easy foil attachment to any board with 165 x 90 plate spacings without removing the screws

Modular Design
Fuselage compatibility with all other Shinn wings and stabilisers for future, cost effective upgrades

Padded Travel Case
Supplied in a padded case for minimal space and peace of mind when traveling

Take a look at the new 2018 Shinn Model K Foil Mast at S2AS!

Sometimes you just don’t know what you need until you try it, and its the same here at S2AS. Everybody loves the feeling of achievement and success, it’s not so much about reaching the summit of the mountain but making the small steps needed along the way. Imagine making flying runs during your first hour on the water with a foil - well, at S2AS, we've got the gear that will get everybody hooked.

Speed range, stability, great pitch control and amazing carving the new Model K really does do it all. Inspired by the need for a foil to fill the gap between the impossibly easy to learn on P foil and high speed Model F, the Model K represents Shinn's vision for the perfect x-over, multi purpose foil. The Model K was developed with “2nd season” foilers in mind and was designed to ensure your progress remains as fast and painless as your first season on the Model P was. Impressive low speed starting and a high angle of attack stall resistance means you don’t need the footwork of a ballerina to master the tricky footswitches required for flying tacks and gybes and yet lock it down and pour on the power and the Model K accelerates and tracks assuredly with a feeling far more often associated with high performance race or free-race foils.

Strapless action, light wind cruising, transition mastery – massive functioning speed range and easy pitch control mean the Model K fulfils the needs of even the most advanced foilers looking for something other than just flat out speed.

Features:

Incredible Range: Start foiling at 8 and tested to above 30 kph – fast enough for fun, slow enough to learn.

Shinn Foil Compatibility Program: Complete compatibility with Shinn Model F wing – allowing for both a clear progression path and wings for all occasions.

Progressive Lift: Lift increase is very progressive allowing even inexperienced foilers enough time to react.

Stable Pitch Control: Low aspect design makes pitch changes slower and means over foiling becomes a thing of the past – ideal for kite and SUP foilers alike.

Suitable for Advanced Foilers: Accelerate your learning for all the flying transitions you want to learn, then transfer your new skills to the Model F wing.

Increased Rider Safety: Designed with no sharp edges this wing inspires confidence in case the worst thing happens.

2 Mast Length Options: Available complete with either 60cm or 90cm mast.

Quik-Fit Plate: Fast and easy foil removal without the need to remove the screws from the board.
