In 1985 the future founders of Liquid Force Tony Finn and Jimmy Redmon separately looked for alternatives to waterskiing and surfing. Finn was the developer of the Skurfer which is largely regarded as the product that put wakeboarding on the map, and Redmon is regarded as the most influential and creative designer of products since the sport's inception. The "skurfer“ the water ski board was lighter and the first to have foot straps.
Being rivals at first they soon became aware of each other's strengths which led to the establishment of their own firm, that produced the first twin-tip board with a symmetrical design, an innovation on the wakeboard market allowing riders to ride with either their left or right foot forward. which resulted in their team riders claiming titles at a wakeboard contest. With the additions of a wakeskating, wakesurfing and kiteboarding division, as well as a core retailer apparel program, the Liquid Force company now commands a large percentage of the market.
Having twice won the WSIA “Manufacturer of the Year” award, Liquid Force is dedicated to relentless innovation, progressive design, maximum functionality and unparalleled quality. Constantly pushing to improve the industry Liquid Force have recently brought out their 4D Flextrack system which allows for greater natural flex and control of the wakeboard!
